Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Student Services and Accountability, the School Nurse provides health services which improve student health status, knowledge, and practice; assists in the planning and implementation of school health programs in collaboration with school district personnel, participating community resources and according to current standards of practice; performs health assessments, referrals and follow up to remediate or prevent health disorders; conducts the development, implementation and supervision support of specialized physical health care services; consults with school personnel about health office operations; consults and assists with student health management strategies and student welfare and attendance problems; and performs other related functions which strengthen and support the educational process as required. This position shares supervision for the Nurse Assistant and is instrumental to overall Charter School activities and results.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: • A baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college/university, with an emphasis in nursing or a related field; • Possession of a valid School Nurse Services Credential; Important! An RN credential alone is not sufficient for this position. The candidate needs to have an active School Nurse Services Credential to be considered for this position.
