ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
DEFINITION
Under general direction of the Superintendent, is responsible for the administration and coordination of an elementary school.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
~Provides strong leadership in the areas of : curriculum and instruction, budget administration, community relations, employee relations, student activities, and student discipline;
~Promotes effective instruction through the monitoring and assessment of programs and personnel;
~Understands appropriate placement of students;
~Monitors and assesses the total educational program;
~Plans, supervises and directs the business operation of the school;
~Maintains high morale among students, staff and parents;
~Facilitates communication with students, staff, parents and District Office staff;
~Values a high level of employee performance;
~Provides leadership in the effective use of school resources;and
~Understands the relationship of technology and curriculum

REASONING ABILITY

CREDENTIAL
Valid California Administrative Credential
EDUCATION
Master's Degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three years successful teaching experience
Administrative experience in an elementary school;
Experience in the area of elementary curriculum;
Demonstrate skill in participative management, shared decision-making and school and program planning.
Experience with English language development students in a multi-cultural community desirable.
Bilingual skills preferred.
