AACA teachers must be excellent in developing K-8 students into self-motivated, self-disciplined and socially responsible learners. The AACA philosophy respects diversity and whole child development: cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. Curriculum, instruction, and assessment strategies must apply academic learning to real-life activities through service/project-based programs providing advanced opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Teachers are expected to build programs that foster thinking that is innovative, creative, collaborative and reflective.
Requirements / Qualifications
Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential. Master’s Degree in a related field (Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, etc) Five or more years experience developing and facilitating instructional experiences. Possession of bilingual teaching credential, BCC, CLAD, BCLAD, ELD or LDS certificate (desired). A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Live Scan clearance with the CA Department of Justice. CPR certification. A current tuberculosis clearance.
