Requirements / Qualifications

The Position The Superintendent/Principal is the highly visible instructional leader of the school, ensuring a safe and positive learning and teaching environment. He or she is expected to provide a collaborative culture involving parents and staff. The successful candidate will: -Promote the District’s commitment to academic excellence, arts education, environmental stewardship and life skills development -Ensure effective implementation of the California Common Core State Standards -Develop and execute the Local Control Accountability Plan -Provide fiscal oversight of the District Budget and Local Control Funding Formula -Inspire and lead staff in developing and maintaining the highest quality instructional program -Maintain transparency, openness and integrity with the all the members of the school community -Foster positive relations with, and involvement by community organizations and government agencies -facilitate the district’s maintenance and operations infrastructure Additionally, the successful candidate will be: -An approachable, welcoming team builder receptive to concerns and suggestions for improvement -Committed to collaborative bargaining and respectful employer-employee relations -A fair and objective staff evaluator, promoting outstanding performance and high morale -On campus to the fullest extent possible
