Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or a field closely related to the knowledge and ability requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning accredited as recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation is required. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the field of maintenance, repair and modernization of multi-site facilities, including at least two (2) years of supervisory responsibility for a building maintenance program. • Additional experience above the required minimum may be substituted for college education on a year for year basis for up to two (2) years. License: • Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License and insurability to drive a District vehicle as part of the District’s Pull Notice program is required. Special information: • The operation of a District vehicle is required. • All applicants will be required to submit a recent (less than one month old from the recruitment closing date) DMV printout (H-6) showing their driving records for the past 10 years.
APPLICATION PROCESS EXAMINATION This is a promotional recruitment. The examination process may consist of the following: a supplemental response evaluation, performance examination and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. The resulting eligibility list will be used for up to six months to fill vacancies. The Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Operations is under administrative direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, and plans, coordinates, directs and oversees the District’s facilities, maintenance, custodial and groundskeeping operation.
