JOB DESCRIPTION

 

NOCCCD is now accepting applications for a Mortuary Science Instructor at Cypress College! 

 

Primary Purpose: 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. Minimum Qualifications: 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Master’s degree or equivalent foreign degree AND a Bachelor’s degree in the discipline or closely related discipline

 

OR

 

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;

 

AND ALL OF THE FOLLOWING : 

 

Six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the assignment which must include clinical decedent care as a licensed embalmer

 

Graduation from an institution of funeral service education accredited by the ABFSE .

 

National Board Exam certification from the ICFSEB not later than the first day of the semester, as a condition of employment .

 

Possession of a valid California funeral director’s license or acquisition of California license not later than the first day of the semester, as a condition of employment.

 

Possession of a valid California embalmer’s license or acquisition of California license not later than the first day of the semester, as a condition of employment.

Special Instructions Summary: SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY

 

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. 

 

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
