Ascension Lutheran School, a small Christian private school dedicated to forming Christlike character and academic excellence, is seeking a mission-driven and highly organized Vice Principal to support the daily operations of the school. The Vice Principal plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the school day runs smoothly and efficiently, providing direct support to teachers, students, and families. This leader will model Christ-centered leadership, exhibit a strong commitment to the school's mission and values, and foster a culture of excellence, safety, and partnership within the broader One Ascension community. Key Responsibilities: School Operations & Leadership Ensure that the daily school schedule operates with excellence and minimal disruption. This includes coordinating with the Office Administrator regarding substitutes and “juggling” staff to cover staff absences. Ensure that teachers have all resources and support they need on a daily basis. Lead the school and operate as Incident Commander in case of emergencies when the Principal is off site. Provide frontline discipline and student support, modeling restorative practices and clear expectations. Assist teachers in real-time with classroom management, instructional support, and conflict resolution. Collaborate with the Principal to maintain a positive school climate focused on learning, respect, and Christian values. Effectively manage the school calendar (in cooperation with the Office Administrator) in coordination with staff and leadership to ensure smooth operations. Advocate for the strategic initiatives and the strategic plan of the school with all stakeholders including staff, parents, the One Ascension and broader community. Serve on hiring committees as needed. Offer wisdom, counsel, and correction to the Principal and other key team members. Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a willingness to pursue continuing education and model lifelong learning to our community. Teaching or administrative credential (or equivalent leadership experience in a school setting). Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience, with leadership experience strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict with grace and clarity. Deep commitment to Christian education and the mission of Ascension Lutheran School. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. High emotional intelligence and confidentiality in managing sensitive matters. Core Competencies: Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communicator with students, parents, faculty, and stakeholders. Conflict resolution and problem-solving ability.
