The Guidance Assistant assists in the school guidance program by providing individual and/or small group instruction to pupils; maintain manual or computerized records; assist school staff with pupil discipline problems; contact parents, pupils, and district staff. Current vacancy: Dewey Elementary School - 3251 Rosecrans St, San Diego, CA 92110 Scheduled for 10 months per year, 18 hours per week

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one year of experience working with children in counseling or guidance services.
