PARAEDUCATOR — PRESCHOOL Length of work year: 183 days, 11 months: August through June Compensation: $26.58 to $32.72 hourly planned for fiscal year 2025-26 (pending board approval June 3, 2025) includes pro-rated health & wellness benefits Employment type: Classified 5 hours per day (0.625 FTE) Reporting to: Under the direction and supervision of Preschool Supervisor Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Preschool Supervisor, the classroom Paraeducator is responsible for providing students with quality Preschool Programs and being a Preschool staff team member. He/she works with the Preschool Supervisor in implementing a developmentally appropriate program for preschool students. Responsibilities: ? Implement a developmentally appropriate program with the guidance from the Teachers and Preschool Supervisor ? Supervise students within the classroom and on play yard, monitoring safety, social, cognitive, and physical development ? Setup, organize, and clean indoor and outdoor play spaces. ? Assist with meal times, toileting, and hygiene routines. ? Perform general housekeeping tasks - may be exposed to bodily fl uids, blood and vomit ? Attend Preschool team staff meetings and school wide staff training/meetings appropriate for the job ? Perform other duties deemed necessary by the Preschool Supervisor or Superintendent Qualifications: ? Knowledge of Early Childhood Education, developmental needs of children ages 2 -5 and instructional methods for preschool education. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals including parents, staff and community members ?
