Job Summary

The award winning McMinnville School District is seeking an extraordinary leader to serve our District as our next Director of Human Resources. We are looking for a strategic and collaborative HR leader who is passionate about building strong teams, improving systems, and creating a positive, inclusive workplace culture. As a key member of the Superintendent’s leadership team, this person will help the district continue to attract, support, and retain excellent staff. We seek an experienced, forward-thinking, and adaptable leader —someone who can lead at a high level while also managing day-to-day work.

Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print

Our ideal candidate will ensure HR practices are efficient, transparent, and aligned with our goal of student success. We’re looking for someone who wants to lead both strategically and operationally—someone passionate about building strong teams and improving systems. If you're seeking a collaborative and innovative environment where your expertise can shape the future of education, we invite you to join our team.

We are nestled in the heart of wine country in Yamhill County, 40 miles southwest of Portland. The district serves 6,300 students in grades kindergarten through 12 and offers free preschool in district schools. We are proud of the work we do, and we love the community in which we live. Student achievement across the district has steadily improved over the past dozen years, boosted by robust competitive grant awards that fund many STEAM programs for students, both during and beyond the school day and school year. In 2014, the district was named a National STEM Showcase district by the U.S. Department of Education, one of just three districts across the country to be recognized. The Oregonian has repeatedly singled out the district for its “laser-like focus” on research-based instructionalpractices and professional learning, success with English language learners, and for its graduation rate, which is among the highest in the state. Serving a population that is 60% economically disadvantaged, 35% Latino, and 14% English learners, the district consistently outperforms SBAC state averages for historically underserved populations.

Prior leadership experience and knowledge in the field of Human Resources is required. Prior experience in K12 Education is preferred.
