Job Summary

Therapeutic Services at NCPS NCPS provides a nurturing and therapeutic environment for Autism students and students with emotional disabilities aged 12–22. Each student with mental health services on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) is paired with a therapist. These sessions address dysfunctional thoughts, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral issues, helping students develop coping skills, problem solving skills and emotional regulation. Position: Full-time school mental health therapist – (205 days per year) • Responsibilities: Provide individual and group counseling for students, parent counseling, collaborate on IEPs, create and collaborate on Behavior Intervention Plans, and support student mental health initiatives. • Requirements: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) • Compensation: $77,000 - $90,000 with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) Experience • Prior experience working with adolescents on the Autism Spectrum • Prior experience working with adolescent crisis intervention • Prior experience creating safety plans for adolescents • Knowledge of 5150 admission criteria • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education law is preferred Special Skills • Training in trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and/or social- emotional learning (SEL) • Training and experience with autism and sensory needs • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families • Strong understanding of psychotropic medications and medication education abilities Ideal Candidate • Passionate about supporting students on the autism spectrum • Passionate about supporting marginalized adolescents and committed to a student- centered approach • Great sense of humor, compassionate and team player • Reliable, good time management skills and meeting deadlines
