Requirements / Qualifications


Requirements: Please read carefully. TK teacher verification of eligibility must be submitted through one of the following ways: Option 1: Valid Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Submit a detailed copy from CTC of valid California permit required. Submit a screenshot from the CTC website. Do not submit a PDF of your certificate. Option 2: At least 24 semester units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or both. Submit all applicable transcripts (Community College, Undergraduate, Graduate). If you attended all 3 institutions, you must submit transcripts for all 3. Option 3: Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children comparable to the 24 semester units of education (comparability determined by the local employing agency). Submit a letter from a school district stating you were assigned to a classroom setting with preschool or TK age children for 1 or more years. The letter must specify the number of years and number of hours in the classroom. A letter from a school site will not be accepted. Option 4: Teacher was assigned to teach TK students prior to July 1, 2015. Letter from a school district stating you were assigned to teach TK students prior to 7/1/2015. The letter must specify # of years worked. A letter from a school site will not be accepted.

  • Copy of Transcript (All levels if applicable, including community college, undergraduate, and/or graduate. Unofficial are accepted. Please submit one file for each college / university you attended.)
  • Credential Copy (Detailed copy from CTC of valid California permit required. Submit a screenshot from the CTC website. Do not submit a PDF of your certificate.)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 required. 1 letter must be from a Principal, Assistant Principal, or direct supervisor and should be dated in the past year.)
  • Resume
