Under the general guidance of the lead STEAM teacher(s) and supervision of the school administrator, the STEAM Assistant provides direct instruction for STEAM lessons to teachers and students. The STEAM Assistant is responsible for preparing all materials necessary for the lessons. The STEAM Assistant will help with the development of the STEAM program by collaborating with lead STEAM teacher(s) to provide relevant education to teachers and students. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age Must have High School diploma or equivalent Must be able to pass TB and Fingerprint clearance Must understand and follow written and oral directions Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Must be able to learn and follow the practices, rules and regulations of the District and the school Must have some experience in working with children and/or students in an organized setting Must be able to participate in and pass all annual training While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee frequently bends or twists at the neck and trunk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, reach forward and above the head. The employee must be able to push items of 30 pounds, such as pushing a cart or moving/rearranging furniture. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision Work Year: This position is a ten (10) month position and runs concurrently with the school calendar. 4 Hours per day
