The Poway Unified School District is seeking applications for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note that this posting is for an ELIGIBILITY POOL only. As positions at the middle school or high school become available, candidates may be contacted directly by school sites.
Requirements / Qualifications
This is an Eligibility Pool only - once positions become available, school sites may contact candidates directly for interviews. Applicants must submit all required documents to be considered, including a valid teaching credential. CREDENTIALS REQUIRED: A valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential - English or other valid California teaching credential authorizing teaching English.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: All required documents MUST be scanned and attached prior to submitting an application for this position. Incomplete applications will not be considered. 1. Applicants must have an English Language Learners (CLAD credential) in order to be considered for the position. 2. Copy of single subject teaching credential (English or other valid California teaching credential authorizing teaching English). 3. Copy of Transcript (Official transcripts are required upon hiring). 4. Current resume. 5. Letter of introduction, addressed to Kelly Burke, Ed.D, Director or Human Resources. 6. Three (3) letters of reference, signed/dated within the past 12 months. Applicants are encouraged to include at least one (1) letter of reference from a supervising or site administrator. Applicants who have never held a full-time position, are encouraged to have a letter of reference from a site administrator where they completed their student teaching. 7. For phone references, be sure to include the reference's most current cell phone number and email address. 8. All applications must be submitted through EDJOIN; no hard copy documents will be accepted. TEACHER INDUCTION: Poway Unified School District offers a teacher induction program to clear the CA preliminary credential to qualified individuals at no cost to the employee.
