ABOUT THE DISTRICT: The Cypress School District (CSD) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent, Business Services. CSD is nestled within a suburban area of North Orange County, operating six elementary schools serving a diverse 3,200 students. CSD is committed to providing students a rigorous, well-rounded, and cutting edge instructional program to prepare learners for future success. CSD harnesses the energy, enthusiasm and dedication of its community to focus attention on doing good work on behalf of all students. LEADERSHIP ATTRIBUTES: Candidates must demonstrate a track record of success in the following areas: *Leading a dynamic workforce with strategic foresight. *Establishing systems that lead to increased employee engagement, creativity, and morale. *Directing/overseeing a variety of complex organizational business-related functions and tasks. *Advising the District’s Negotiations Teams in collective bargaining. *Creating departmental structures that are streamlined, responsive, and universally followed. *Collaborating with constituents including representatives from the District, City, County, and State. *Coordinating inter-divisional projects and workflow aligned with district priorities and needs. *Preparing and presenting detailed data analyses, recommendations, and conclusions. *Using sound judgement to develop, interpret, and apply Board policies and procedures. *Building leadership capacity and teamwork to strengthen services across the organization. *Assessing risks and proactively planning to mitigate them. *Adapting/evolving to meet the needs of ever-changing environments. *Appreciating and valuing the human dimension of school district leadership.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION: *Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in business; school district administration *Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required (preferred) *Master's degree (preferred) *Consideration will be given to an alternate combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities that encompass the essential job functions (see attached job description)
