Job Description

Position Summary

ICEF Public Schools seeks a visionary, mission-aligned Vice President of Student Services to lead and integrate the full continuum of student support services across the network. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the executive leadership team, the VP of Student Services will oversee counseling, social-emotional learning, mental health services, student discipline, expanded learning programs, arts, and athletics.

This role will focus on building sustainable, scalable systems that increase the effectiveness and impact of student support programming. The VP of Student Services will collaborate with school leaders and executive colleagues to ensure every ICEF student experiences a safe, inclusive, enriching environment that nurtures their academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategic Vision

• Develop and implement a network-wide strategy for integrated student services aligned to ICEF's mission and goals
• Oversee counseling, SEL, mental health services, student discipline, expanded learning, arts, and athletics programs
• Lead system design to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability of support programs across campuses
• Set measurable goals and monitor program effectiveness using data and continuous improvement practices
• Collaborate with principals, instructional leaders, and Home Office teams to align supports with academic priorities

Team & Program Management

• Supervise and develop a high-performing team of department leaders across Student Services functions
• Build team culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and student-centered practices
• Manage budgets, vendor partnerships, and compliance requirements for all program areas
• Identify and secure grant opportunities and partnerships to expand programming

Cross-Functional Collaboration & External Partnerships

• Serve as a key partner to the CEO and executive team in advancing ICEF's mission through holistic student supports
• Build strong partnerships with families, community-based organizations, and external agencies to enhance services
• Represent ICEF at external events, coalitions, and advocacy efforts related to student wellness and enrichment

Operational & Compliance Leadership

• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and reporting requirements in areas such as student discipline, mental health services, and after-school programming
• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and protocols that support equitable and effective service delivery
• Lead crisis response coordination for student support incidents in collaboration with school leaders and external partners

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, counseling, social work, public administration, or related field preferred
• Minimum 8 years of leadership experience in student services, counseling, social-emotional supports, or related fields
• Proven track record of managing diverse student support functions at the school or district/network level
• Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance frameworks in student services
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale effective programs across multiple sites
• Exceptional collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
• Commitment to educational equity and ICEF’s mission

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading student support services in a charter management organization or public education setting
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Familiarity with California Education Code and state/federal compliance requirements related to student services
