Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires the candidate to have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education OR the ability to demonstrate, through a formal local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or readiness in those subjects, as appropriate). Testing TBD. You will be working with special education students in Extended Learning after-school programs and will provide individual services and support for these students per their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Qualifications: Candidate must be a high school graduate and have knowledge of principles and practices relating to Special Education, subjects taught in District schools, and principles and techniques of providing instructional assistance in a variety of subject areas. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary, as well as good oral and written communication skills are essential. Position may require toileting/health-related duties. If those duties are required, a 2.5% salary increase will be applied. The increase must be renewed annually if duties continue.
