Requirements / Qualifications

Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: working collaboratively with the Site Supervisor in the development and implementation of a safe and nurturing learning environment that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all students; use of Positive Discipline in classroom management techniques; creating an exciting and enriched environment connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences; knowledge of and experience with Project Based Learning, STEAM, and creating developmentally appropriate curriculum; be in ratio to support the program when students are in attendance; in the absence of the Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor will perform all duties related to program operations: problem solving, use of good judgment, communicating effectively both verbally & written, setting priorities and goals, resolving conflict, and managing time effectively, and ensuring the health and safety needs of the children are met and issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately. Education and Experience: 3-5 years of experience working with children in grades TK-6 in a large after-school enrichment program; 1-2 years of progressive leadership experience as a Teacher or Program Leader in an after-school program; AA or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Youth/Adolescent Development, or a related field. BA preferred. Candidate must have a working knowledge or the ability to learn district-adopted software: Google Suite software, Google Hangout, Google Meet and/or Zoom, etc.: be CPR and First Aid Certified; have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; be able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam; be able to walk, squat, bend, and stand; and the ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
