Appropriate California Education Specialist Credential Authorizing service in a Mild/Moderate setting **Required** If you do not have a posted credential, please attach a letter that states you are currently enrolled in a program, and list your graduation date. Autism Authorization **Required** English Learner Authorization **Required** CLAD, ELEA, ELAS, ELA 1, BCLAD are acceptable EL authorizations. We understand that the EL Authorization is embedded in your credential, please attach a copy of your credential to the EL Authorization section of your Ed-Join application in order to verify that you have met the EL requirement. The teacher should have the following skills:
1. Mild-Moderate specialist credential.
2. Experience working with students with behavior needs and social skills deficits.
3. Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and supports, including both philosophy and implementation of instructional methods within the classroom.
4. Knowledge of applied behavioral analysis instructional methodologies as appropriate for this population.
5. Knowledge of assessment methods, techniques and tools from student identified with self-regulation deficits; knowledge of and ability to apply principles and methods
of developing an instructional and behavioral management system; knowledge and experience for teaching academic subjects.
6. Establishes instructional/learning environment for students to reinforces appropriate pupil behavior; develops, adapts/modifies and sequences a variety of
instructional activities to meet the students’ individual goals/objectives which are based on student’s IEP; provides academic instruction to students based on state
adapted curriculum; monitors/charts behavioral and instructional progress for the students; establishes/maintains behavioral management system for students;
establishes a varied environment which accommodates the differing ways that children learn; maintains records and reports regarding pupil progress in a timely
manner.
7. Collaboration with general education staff and support providers.
