Under the supervision of Principal or Assistant Principal, serves as a preschool classroom teacher for preschool-aged children and provides instruction, care and assistance to preschool-age children at a designated child care center; develops and implements lesson plans and instructional activities to meet the needs of children; prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college level coursework in early childhood education including 24 units in Early Childhood Education and one year educational experience working with preschool-age children. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Valid State of California Child Development Teacher Permit, Master Teacher Permit, Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit. • Health Screening and fingerprint clearance through Community Care Licensing.

IUSD is looking for substitutes for this position. Hours will vary depending on need. Qualifications to Sub in a Preschool Position: 1. CA Child Development Teacher Permit 2. Master Teacher Permit 3. Site Supervisor Permit 4. Program Director Permit OR 5. A current credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing authorizing teaching service in elementary school or a single subject credential in home economics, and six units in administration/supervision of Early Childhood Education, Child Development (ECE/CD) (not required to any person who was employed as a program director prior to 1/1/93 in a child care and development program receiving funding by the Early Learning and Care Division [ELCD]) and 12 units of ECE/CD or at least two years’ experience in an ECE/CD program.
New state requirements are now in place for all preschool employees and are now a condition of employment: *Proof of pertussis, measles and influenza are required *Employee may submit a written waiver for influenza *Employee's doctor may waive all immunizations

- Resume (Complete applications include a resume, certificate copy and at least 2 references on the application.)
