Job Summary
Job Summary
PreSchool Family is a parent participation and parent education program serving families with children ages birth through five years. The program began in 1946 and is part of the Palo Alto Adult School. The program is designed to offer parents an opportunity to learn about parenting and to actively participate in their child's education. For children, the program offers a developmentally appropriate, play-based, educational experience. A PreSchool Family teacher supports children through the domains of development and supports parents in defining their family values and gaining confidence in the intricate realm of parenting. The teacher will design child-centered daytime experiences, create supportive and informative parent education classes, and will develop a connected parenting community. The child-centered experiences serve as the “lab” portion of the program related to parent discussion topics in the parent education classes.
