POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals for full-time Clerical Assistant II Bilingual-Biliterate (Spanish) positions to perform a wide variety of general and specialized clerical duties. The Clerical Assistant II duties are above average difficulty and require the exercise of independent judgment in interpretation and application of standard practices and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Please note, the Clerical Assistant II/BB position requires the ability to speak, read and write fluently in both English and Spanish. Competency testing will be given as an integral part of the recruitment process. The current career opportunity is for 40 hours/week, 10.42 months/year. The expected work hours of anticipated openings vary depending on the site needs and can include: 7:00am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4:00pm, or 8 am-4:30 pm. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Course work in office occupations desirable. Certificates and other requirements: Candidate may be required to obtain a Red Cross First Aid Certificate by the end of the probation period. Requirement dependent on site or department assignment. Other: Must be able to speak, read and write in both English and Spanish.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be one year (12 months). The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies. Positions can range from 10.42 - 12 months/year. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
