THE POSITION: Under the direction of the Project Director lll, Reading/Language Arts, the Senior Program Specialist, Elementary Language Arts, shall act as a resource specialist to educators in K-12 reading and language arts programs with emphasis at the elementary level; co-facilitate in-service training and instructional programs; work with RLA team to assess and determine program needs and implement program objectives; serve as a liaison with other agencies; and perform related supportive duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Five or more years of directly related and progressive teaching experience in grades K-6 including some experience working with students who exhibit reading difficulty. District level literacy coaching experience is desired. Education: A Bachelor’s degree and appropriate teaching credentials from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. A Master’s degree is preferred. Certificate: (Must attach a detailed certification/credential with document number to application. Internal and external applicant, please provide a copy of each credential document as it appears on the California Teaching Credential website with the document number on it): • Must hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with full English Learner authorization (CLAD, BCLAD or equivalent). • A Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential or Reading and Literacy Added Authorization is desired but not required
