Director, State & Federal Programs & Special Projects–Berkeley Unified School District BASIC FUNCTION: The Director of State & Federal Programs and Special Projects plays a key role in supporting BUSD’s mission to enable and inspire our diverse student body to achieve academic excellence and make positive contributions to the world through the effective use and monitoring of federal, state and district resources. The Director serves on the Extended Cabinet and works collaboratively with site and district leaders to leverage federal, state and district resources to accelerate learning outcomes for focal student groups, provide engaging programming in school and through extended learning opportunities, and enlist family and community assets to support the District’s work. Direct, coordinate, and oversee implementation of federal, state, and District requirements and grant funding requirement, educational planning and accountability,- including related to ESSA (the Every Student Succeeds Act); design, oversee, and facilitate development of a variety of data reporting tools and displays, and assist central office and school site staff to use data and resources to provide effective programming for students. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Administrative Services Credential (EL Authorization Required) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree and five years increasingly responsible experience in school administration or the administration of public policy, non-profit management, fund development or related field. Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California driver's license, use of personal vehicle, and proof of insurance
