UPA is a community of learners, including teachers, students, staff, and families. Teachers are at the core of our mission, which is to prepare students to enter and excel in the best colleges or universities in the nation. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle School Science Teacher to join our team for 2025/2026. The ideal candidate will inspire students in middle school (grades 7–8) through engaging, hands-on lessons in earth science, life science, physical science, and scientific inquiry. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and a lifelong love of science. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and deliver age-appropriate science lessons that align with state and national standards (e.g., NGSS). Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including labs, technology integration, group work, and project-based learning. Foster critical thinking and scientific reasoning through inquiry-based instruction. Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments. Create a classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic achievement. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and school-wide initiatives.
