
Coordinator - Safety and Security at West Covina Unified
Requirements / Qualifications
The following documents must be attached to your online application: •Letter of Introduction •At least three Letters of Reference less than one year old and one must be from immediate supervisor •Resume Education/Experience: Under the direction of the assigned supervisor(s)/administrator(s), the Coordinator serves the District as the resource person in the area of safety and security; performs technical and responsible functions and activities pertaining to the safety and security of students, staff, and the community in conjunction with Board Policy and Administrative Regulation; serves as liaison between the school sites and the various operational units; supports District and site staff in related areas; organizes, plans, coordinates, and/or trains all district security personnel; maintain flexible hours that may include nights and/or weekends depending on the needs of the District; responsible for safety and security at District Board meetings and events. Required Documents: High school diploma or equivalency; also, coursework and/or training in safety and security in a school setting is highly desirable. • Certificate of Completion of Police Officer Standards and Training course in accordance with either Section 832 of the Penal Code or AB 1626 training must be obtained prior to employment. • Two years of experience in law enforcement, security work, or closely related field. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License during course of employment; must be insurable at standard rates and maintain such insurability during the course of employment.
