Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Site Supervisor State Preschool, perform specifically assigned duties at the Mendocino County Office of Education (MCOE) State Preschool. Employees in the classification receive limited supervision within a broad framework of policies and procedures.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; • Six (6) units of coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, preferred; or • Completion of six (6) units of coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development within one (1) year of employment; • One (1) year paid or volunteer experience working with preschool-age children; • Pass a health screening to prove the physical fitness necessary to meet the physical requirements to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance; • Current immunizations for measles and pertussis, as required by Community Care Licensing; • Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification; • Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred. Employee may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
