POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time Transporter position in our Warehouse or Nutrition Services department. As a Transporter, you will pick up and deliver supplies, materials, records, equipment, and food from vendors, warehouses, schools, and other District sites. In addition, you will assist in the filling of requisitions, putting away stock, and the loading and unloading of trucks. Working hours are from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This career opportunity is 8 hours/day and is anticipated to be a 9.50-month position with paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Experience: One year of work experience in general delivery, warehouse, stockroom, or related work. Additional Requirements: *Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License and insurability to drive a District vehicle as part of the District’s Pull Notice program is required. *A copy of a recent (less than one month old from the recruitment closing date) DMV online driver record is required. Knowledge of: Hazards and safety practices for pick up and delivery work; safety practices in lifting and moving heavy materials; safe driving practices and traffic laws; proper methods of receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, books, equipment, and food. Ability to: Perform heavy physical labor in a safe manner; assist in inventory control and warehouse storage practices; operate various types of mechanical loading and handling equipment.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be one year (i.e., twelve months). The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill the current and future vacancies. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone, of the time, date, and place of the examination(s).
