Job Summary
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent and/or designee the social worker will work to improve mental and emotional health in the educational setting by performing behavioral, social, emotional, and mental health assessments, case management, individual and group therapy, anticipatory guidance, education, preventative health promotion and management of common behavioral, social, emotional and mental health concerns, emotional health and social factors. The services enhance school attendance and assist students, families, and staff with meeting their behavioral, social, emotional and mental health care needs resulting in overall improved wellness and academic performance and improvement in the school community and a positive school climate.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. Credentials: Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Pupil Personnel Service Credential. 2. Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field. 3. Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based best practices in school social work to promote behavioral, social, emotional health for academic success and positive school climate. 4. Experience providing individual and family case management including working collaboratively with outside agencies, and providing presentations, trainings, and monitoring programs. 5. Experience and/or training in school district social work, including knowledge of emotional and mental health issues that affect public schools and facilitating and participating in the multi-disciplinary team process. 6. Valid California Driver’s license and personal vehicle for use on district business.
Ability: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Learn District organization, operations, policies and objectives. Learn department and program objectives and goals. Plan and organize work. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Observe health and safety regulations. Operate standard office equipment including a computer. Maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
