Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the school site administrator or designee, the STEAM Tutors provide individual and/or group tutoring in-person to students across a broad range of courses based on their professional or personal area(s) of expertise. Tutors meet with students to clarify and review concepts in which development or acceleration is needed, explain processes, and help students grow academically and resolve academic challenges. The emphasis and content of the tutoring sessions are determined by the student’s goals and needs. Tutors work with colleagues and leadership to support their own professional development and growth.

Requirements / Qualifications

Some college Bachelor’s degree preferred. Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by specialized training in electronic equipment repair and two years’ experience working in a school setting with students. Experience: Some experience working with new technologies or passion for learning how to use STEAM Curriculum to engage students. Reliable, compassionate, highly skilled, motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills. Previous teaching and/or tutoring experience preferred Candidates must have a passion for education and helping students excel. No teacher certification is required.
