The Position. . . Central School District is seeking an applicant for the position of Elementary School Principal. The successful applicant will bring these qualifications and skills. . . Steadfast commitment to quality public education Ability to inspire parents, teachers and classified employees to work cohesively for the benefit of the students Honesty, clarity, and respect in communicating with others Excellent organizational skills with prompt follow through on all school matters Ability to provide leadership in the creation of a rich co-curricular program Knowledge of instructional content and effective instructional practices at the elementary school level Provide supportive expertise in Language Arts and Mathematical instructional content, instructional practices, and diagnostic assessment High visibility at the school, in the classrooms, and in the community Belief in a safe and orderly school environment Ability to effectively use technology ABILITY TO. . . Effectively and efficiently provide management at the school site Perform supervision and evaluation of certificated and classified staff members Serve as a resource to site and district personnel, students and parents concerning education and behavior Implement management intervention strategies and techniques Communicate effectively in oral and written form Establish and maintain effective organizational and community relationships Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal accountability controls EXAMPLES OF DUTIES. . . Serve as the instructional leader and operational manager of an elementary school facility Screen, select, direct and evaluate performance of certificated and classified staff members Supervise and manage site operation to assure safety and efficiency Administer a balanced budget and operate a school under decentralized management system Accountable for student attendance, behavior management, counseling, guidance and other support services Prepare and write correspondence, bulletins and other communications on behalf of the school Enforce applicable State and District codes, policies and laws Work closely with the school staff and school site council in identifying educational and instructional needs
