POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals for a full-time Food Service Specialist position to coordinate, participate in, and lead the work activities of specialized food service areas at the Nutrition Center. The incumbent is responsible for participating in and leading the day-to-day food preparation and operation of specialized food service areas. This career opportunity is a 40 hours/week, 10-month/year position with anticipated working hours between 6 am and 4:30 pm Mondays through Fridays. This position comes with paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation. The District offers a comprehensive prorated benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Verifiable formal coursework or training (i.e., vocational or college) in food service or a related field is preferred. Experience: Five years of experience in preparing and/or serving food in large-volume food production is required. Licenses/Certification: -Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and insurability to drive a District vehicle as part of the District’s Pull Notice program is required. -A valid ServSafe California Food Handler certification is required. Additional Information: -The availability of private transportation to transport between job sites or the operation of a District vehicle is required. -All applicants will be required to submit a recent (less than one-month-old from the recruitment closing date) DMV printout showing their driving records. RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES
This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview.
To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future vacancies.

The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
