Open & Promotional Regular and Bilingual (Spanish) Depending on the position applying for, successful candidates would be required to perform a wide variety of simple to complex clerical and secretarial work; maintain a system of files and records; compose correspondence; prepare simple reports; check reports and records for clerical accuracy and completeness; assist in enrolling students; assist in the maintenance of pupil enrollment, attendance, and grade records; call parents to check on absences and obtain information; assist with health screening; and may serve as receptionist to students, teachers, and the general public.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education/Experience: All positions require the equivalency of graduation from high school and the ability to type at an acceptable rate of speed. Clerk - Sufficient training and experience Clerical Assistant I - Ability to perform routine and general clerical activities Clerical Assistant II - 1 yr of clerical or secretarial experience Secretary - 3 yrs increasingly responsible clerical or secretarial experience Licenses/Other: Positions at school sites may be required to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certificates within the first year of employment. Incumbents in this classification may be required to speak, read, and write in a designated second language and would receive a bilingual differential of 3.75%.
