Job Summary

Monrovia High School is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Coach for our Varsity Girls Flag Football team for the 2025 Fall season. The ideal candidate will have a clear, strategic vision for the program and a plan for where they see Monrovia Girls Flag Football in the next three years. Responsibilities: * Lead and coach the Varsity Girls Flag Football team. * Develop and implement detailed practice plans, focusing on skill development and game strategies. * Assist with team evaluations, drafts, and game/practice scheduling for both JV and Varsity teams. * Collaborate with the coaching staff to prepare practice and game plans. * Ensuring clear communication with athletes. * Maintain a professional relationship with students, parents, staff, and officials. * Oversee and support the Girls Flag Football staff, ensuring smooth operations and effective teamwork. * Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all student-athletes, promoting their development both on and off the field. Qualifications: * Previous head varsity coaching experience in football or flag football at the high school or collegiate level is highly preferred. * In-depth knowledge of football and flag football techniques, strategies, and rules. * Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, coaches, parents, and school personnel. * Strong leadership qualities, with a focus on the holistic development of student-athletes. * Experience working with diverse groups of student-athletes and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment. * Previous experience in organizing and managing sports programs is preferred. * CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the season. * A deep commitment to the educational values of the school and the academic success of student-athletes.

Additional Requirements: * Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is preferred. * Comprehensive knowledge of Girls Flag Football, including rules, strategies, and techniques. * Ability to foster positive relationships with athletic administrators, athletes, parents, and fellow coaches. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively. * Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and games. * Adherence to all CIF by-laws, school policies and alignment with the school’s mission.

* Completion of one of the following courses: “Fundamentals of Coaching” course completion certificate, Online Course, available through National Federation of High Schools (www.nfhslearn.com) or "Coaching Principles” completion certificate. Online course, available through Human Kinetics Coach Education Center (http://www.asep.com/courseInfo/purchase_courseinfo.cfm?CourseID=228&OrgID=28) * "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" course completion certificate. Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Concussion in Sports" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Heat Illness Prevention" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * CPR & First Aid: evidence of current certification. MUST be recognized by American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross.
