Job Summary

The class is designed to provide ELL participants with a baseline understanding of the critical components of business planning, including financial planning, market analysis, risk assessment, and resource allocation. The class will support a work-based learning experience. Class instruction times are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening, 5:30 pm-8:30 pm, and an additional 1.5 hrs/week for individualized student support. Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: CA Teaching Credential with ESL Authorization Experience with multi-level ESL and students of differing cultural backgrounds and learning styles preferred. Teaching, training, and team teaching experience preferred, but not required. A strong desire to train and mentor. The "Business Entrepreneurship (How to Start a Business)" course provides a strong foundation in business planning and equips participants with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the business world. It helps develop a strategic mindset, enables informed decision-making, and provides practical experience in developing business plans and conducting market research. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and present lesson plans. Prepare a course outline and syllabus stating the class goals, course content, classroom policies and procedures, and methods of evaluation. Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials, including online resources, that are appropriate to the course and accommodate all learning styles. Administer assessments to measure student progress. Create a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential and prepare them for transitioning into postsecondary education, and or vocational and community goals. Maintain current and accurate records of student attendance. Participate in required Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings.
