Position Description
Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the Business Department to teach in the College's Rising Scholars program. In addition to its three campuses, Chaffey College also delivers high-quality education to incarcerated students through its Rising Scholars program at the California Institution for Women (CIW) and the California Institution for Men in Chino (CIM). Courses are taught in person at these state prisons. Rising Scholars students have passed 94 percent of courses they have attempted. Some of our Rising Scholars students have continued with Chaffey College post release, at other community colleges, or have gone onto four-year universities, such as UC Berkeley and San Diego State University. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for Business instructors (below). Applicants must also meet the requirements of the California Institution for Women and the California Institution for Men and receive required security clearances. Courses taught at the prisons may include general Business, Marketing, Management, Business Communications, Personal Finance, and other similar courses. Successful applicants may also teach courses in our programs open to the general public. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education; OR
• Bachelor's in any of the above AND master's in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree; OR
• Bachelor's in economics with a business emphasis; AND master's in personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree; OR
• The equivalent; AND
• Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
