Stockton Unified School District (SUSD) began providing services to students in 1852 and is located in the heart of California’s Central Valley near the banks of the San Joaquin River. SUSD is the 17th largest school district in California, whereby 38,000 PK-12th grade students come to us to experience an academic journey that leads to high school graduation and success in college, careers, and as actively-engaged community members. About SECA: At SECA, our mission is to provide students with equitable educational opportunities, prepare them to be problem solvers and college-ready learners, and encourage them to be responsible, compassionate contributors to society. We offer a rigorous college preparatory high school experience, including Pre-AP/Honors and Advanced Placement courses, as well as direct access to fully transferable, college-level courses through Delta College in accordance with IGETC protocols. Our goal is for every student to successfully matriculate to, and graduate from, a four-year university. Position Summary: The Assistant Principal at SECA plays a key role in supporting academic excellence, operational effectiveness, and a safe, supportive school climate. This individual will work closely with the principal, staff, students, and families to maintain and elevate SECA’s high standards of achievement and equity. Key Responsibilities: •Oversee Advanced Placement (AP) testing and state-mandated assessments, ensuring compliance and successful implementation. •Demonstrate a strong understanding of the dual enrollment partnership with Delta College, including IGETC transfer protocols, course alignment, and student support. •Supervise and support the counseling department, ensuring effective academic advising, scheduling, and college/career readiness services. •Manage day-to-day student discipline, using restorative practices and clear systems to maintain a positive school culture. •Coordinate daily safety operations, including supervision plans, emergency drills, and schoolwide safety protocols.

Experience and Education -Master of Art or advanced degree of equivalent standard from an accredited college or university -Teaching credential and five (5) years of school site experience such as teaching, pupil personnel work or a combination of teaching and school services equal to five years Certificates and License -Valid Teaching Credential or PPS credential -Valid Administrative or Supervisory Credential -First Aid and CPR certificates are required and must be obtained within sixty (60) days from date of hire
