The first GTA charter, Mare Island Technology Academy Middle and High Schools was founded in 2001, later adding Griffin Academy Middle and High Schools in 2018. GTA Schools serve students in grades 6-12. Griffin Technology Academies offer a variety of programs and services designed to support students in achieving academic success. These include: small class sizes, personalized instruction, extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities like, burgeoning athletic programs, before and after school care program, early college (dual enrollment, articulation, concurrent enrollment), AVID, and CTE courses. The schools also provide students with access to technology resources, including laptops and tablets. Students in High School have the opportunity for community service and internships overseen by our Work-Based Learning Coordinator (WBL). The Director of Student Support Services provides strategic oversight and operational management of all student support services, including Special Education and related programs. This leadership role is focused on ensuring equitable access to high-quality services for students with disabilities, delivering a comprehensive support strategy aligned with educational best practices, compliance standards, and student success outcomes. The Director collaborates with school leaders and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and promote a culture of inclusion and achievement.
