Job Summary
The job of Director of Purchasing is done for the purpose(s) of ensuring that department work goals are met; services are provided in an efficient and effective manner; ensuring that staff utilizes appropriate procedures and safe practices; soliciting, receiving and evaluating quotations and recommending and/or awarding bids for the purchase of equipment and supplies; and ensuring optimal utilization of personnel and other resources.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Experience – 2 years of public sector buying experience and/or bidding and contracts administration required; 2 years of supervisory/management experience preferred. Education – minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or comparable education/certification in Business, Finance, or Production/Operations Management, or related field preferred. Required Testing: Excel Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance; TB Clearance
