High School diploma or equivalent AND: * Trade school graduate desired. * Two years’ experience in building, equipment, grounds, and maintenance. AND * One additional year experience in one or more of these trades: painting, locksmith, maintenance or glazier. * Possession of a valid California driver’s license and be insurable. * Two (2) recent letters of reference. * TO BE CONSIDERED ALL DOCUMENTATION AND REQUIREMENTS MUST BE STATED AND ATTACHED WHEN SUBMITTING APPLICATION. *Minimum Knowledge of work methods, materials, tools and equipment used in building/structure maintenance, fundamentals of the following trades: plumbing, carpentry, glazing, painting, welding, HVAC, electrical and auto mechanics. *Skill and ability to safely use a wide variety of hand and power tools involved in general maintenance of buildings and equipment; work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints; follow written and oral directions with instructions, use all equipment related to his/her specific assignment. *Maintain professional confidentiality; Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; perform heavy manual labor and lift heavy loads properly and safely; work independently without constant supervision; performs other related duties as assigned. If five (5) qualified applicants from the Lancaster School District demonstrate the ability to meet the job qualifications, the position will be filled on a promotional basis. If less than five (5) District applicants demonstrate the ability to meet the qualifications, the position will be filled through open examination.
