Job Summary

Job Summary

Focus is on ELA, utilizing the State frameworks and courses of study adopted by the Board of Education. Under the supervision of the site principal, the Interventionist will work directly with students to implement differentiated instructional strategies that are intended to increase student learning with a focus on ELA. This is a fully qualified professional position where the teacher is trained to deliver critical components of elementary school education to children. The Interventionist works with individual student and/or groups of students to improve academic progress in ELA. Advancement to this position requires teacher credentials plus the demonstrated ability either through coursework, certificates, or experience, to deliver subject matter and learning style concepts that enhance student skill and knowledge development in ELA.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Valid appropriate California teaching credential. If your English Learner Authorization (CLAD/BCLAD/EL/ELA/SDAIE) is not embedded in your credential, you must currently hold or qualify for a CLAD or BCLAD certificate. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: • Reading Specialist credential. • Reading certificate or specialized reading training. • Past experience as an Intervention teacher in ELA and/or Mathematics. • Successful experience working with a diverse English Learner student population. • Teaching experience at more than one grade level. • Experience implementing small group intervention. • Skills in analyzing and using data to make instructional and behavioral decisions.
