Job Summary

Job Summary

Position Summary This position is responsible for the maintenance and retention of accurate and timely accounting records and general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and preparing accounting and purchasing transactions associated with fiscal and financial operations.

Requirements / Qualifications

Primary Role and Responsibilities Analyze and verify information by creating spreadsheet reports. Complete responsibilities accurately and on time. Comply with the ProYouth Employee Handbook and other Policies and Procedures. Ensure staff are trained to properly use timekeeping and payroll systems. Enter accounts payable invoices, vendor information, and prepare documents for payment. Hold everyone, including yourself, accountable for their actions. Maintain and balance an automated consolidation system. Other duties as assigned within the scope and range of training and knowledge base. Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports. Prepare bank deposits, deposit cash/checks with the bank, and return verification of deposits to the Finance Department. Prepare disbursements and reconcile accounts. Prepare documents for internal and external audits and compliance. Prepare general ledger entries and journal entries by entering, reviewing, and posting. Prepare special reports for management. Prepares accounting transactions and documentation related to accounts payable and accounts receivable. Process monthly mileage claims for up to 650 employees. Review internal financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger system and department heads. Review, enter, and utilize distribution tables. Review, verify, and process purchase orders.

Education and Experience High school diploma and AA/AS or higher preferred. High school diploma or the equivalent, and A minimum of 48 college units or NCLB/Paraprofessional Certificate or the equivalent. Minimum of two years of experience processing accounting duties.

General Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must pass a DOJ/FBI background check. Must receive TB clearance. Must pass pre-employment drug screening. Must have reliable means of transportation, which may include alternative means of transportation such as public transit, ride sharing, and or biking.
