About the Employer
JCS was established in November 1999 (under a management organization) as a K-12 non-classroom based charter school. In 2000, the School, as a 501(c)(3) organization, incrementally began taking ownership of curriculum, instruction and assessment; finance, facilities, and business management; and organization, governance, and administration becoming a fully independent, direct funded, incorporated charter school by the 2002-2003 school year. From inception, the School was designed to meet the needs of students under served by traditional delivery systems of education or for families with a strong desire to home school. The School received an initial charter for two years and has had three additional five-year renewals.

JCS Cedar Cove is a charter school located in Encinitas, California. For 25 years, we have served students in grades TK-12. In our unique hybrid model, we teach TK-5th grade students in person four days per week, with Friday as a home study day. This Fall(2024), we will offer incoming Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade families a Spanish Immersion Program. Each subsequent year, we will add a Spanish Immersion grade level to our program until we are a full immersion program with a goal of bilingualism and biliteracy by 4th and 5th grade. Requirements / Qualifications
Current California Teaching Credential with a Bilingual Authorization in Spanish, or equivalent as recognized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). If you do not currently hold an appropriate California credential at the time of your application, your application will not be considered.
In addition to a resume and letter of introduction, we require three letters of recommendation, a current negative TB test, current CPR certification, and copies of all college transcripts to be uploaded at the time of application. Applications received without all required documents will not be considered. Please see details for each document type for more information.
