Job Summary
Brief Description of Position The classroom teacher is responsible for classroom instruction in areas for which the teacher is credentialed and authorized to teach. The teacher assesses student needs in relation to curriculum objectives and applies a program consistent with identified learning needs, curriculum objectives, and instructional materials, using appropriate teaching strategies, and assessing student progress. Creates and manages a teaching environment conducive to high levels of student learning and communicates regularly with parents regarding student academic and social progress. Provides supervision of all students during designated hours, and if assigned, during before and after school activities. The teacher shall be held accountable for the safety and welfare of all students. Assists in planning and implementing parent involvement activities.

TEACHERS FOR ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY LEVEL POSITIONS:
The Santa Maria-Bonita School District is currently recruiting for Elementary and Secondary Level Teaching positions in English, Math, Science and Social Science for the current school year. The new school year officially begins in August and recruitment begins now! We accept a 5 year limit of experience from outside the District. The Santa Maria Bonita School is located in Santa Maria, California at 708 S. Miller St., Santa Maria, CA. 93454. All applicants are required to have an authorization for English Language Learners or able to obtain one. All applicants must be considered "Highly Qualified" by federal standards. If applying for a secondary level position, the same requirements apply and also considered "Highly Qualified" in your core subject.
