Assistant Principal - Curriculum & Instruction Description of Position To assist the Principal in the organization, administration an supervision of the high school. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for curriculum development and improvement; supervision of instruction, instructional materials, and textbooks to be used; responsible for proficiency test construction and test analysis; works with ESEA, Title I, ROP, VEA, Special Education and other special programs; responsible for student teachers. Other Duties Assist in other administrative duties during the absence of other administrators including: discipline, counseling, buildings and grounds, etc.; performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Credential: General or Secondary Administrative Credential. Pupil Personnel Credential desirable. M.A. in School Administration desirable. • Education: Federal and California laws and regulations pertaining to public education. Curriculum development and instructional skills. Categorical programs. Test development and analysis. Overall school operations. • Experience: Successful teaching and/or administrative experience. Prefer administrative experience in curriculum and instruction. Experience with categorical aid programs desirable. • Personal Qualities: Provide leadership in coordination, planning, improvement and evaluation of the instructional program. Develop and improve curriculum.
