Job Summary
Working with students, the position serves as 50% Special Education/Resource Specialist and 50% Transitional Kindergarten Teacher. The position requires the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students in special education as well as classroom instruction and discipline for general education. Works with the principal or designee in matters necessary for the general welfare of the school.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must have a valid Education Specialist Teaching Credential. Appropriately credentialed teachers first assigned to a transitional kindergarten classroom after July 1, 2015 must have one of the following: At least 24 units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or both; One year of professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children, as noted in Twain Harte Board Resolution 2024-2025-04-01; or a Child Development Teacher Permit, or an early childhood education specialist credential, issued from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Copy of Transcripts (Showing Bachelor's degree); Letter of Introduction; 3 Current Letters of Reference; Resume Upon hiring, salary placement will be determined by the number of upper division/graduate level units earned from a WASC accredited four-year college or university. Units must be earned subsequent to the date of the Bachelor's degree. Maximum of 72 units credited. A maximum of 7 years credit is allowed for teaching experience in a public school (K-12), or an accredited private school (K-12).

Comments and Other Information
For the 2025-2026 school year a newly hired teacher filling the vacancy for Transitional Kindergarten Teacher with Special Education Credential shall be offered a $10,000 signing bonus. The signing bonus shall be payable fifty-percent (50%) at the conclusion of year one, and fifty-percent (50%) at the conclusion of year two of employment. If the teacher resigns their employment prior to completing either year, that portion of the signing bonus will be forfeited.
