Requirements / Qualifications
DEFINITION: Under the direction of an Administrator or Supervisor, coordinates activities in support of the general instructional program through textbook acquisition, library media programs, instructional media resources, materials and equipment; and supports school site libraries. KNOWLEDGE OF: Educational standards, library management systems, information literacy practices, and digital citizenship instructions. Technology integration. Collection development and management. Staff development principles and techniques. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION •Successful experience as a school librarian: (3) three years desirable •Possession of a valid California Teaching credential •Possession of the appropriate valid California Librarian credential •Possession of Master’s degree •Possession of a valid California EL authorization or equivalent

The salary for the position is based on the certificated Counselor and Librarians salary schedule ($68,805 to $136,331) for 189 days of service. Up to 14 years of previous experience within the last 15 years are given for placement on the salary schedule.
