Job Summary
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluates, plans and performs educationally necessary occupational therapy services with children; collaborates with educators, family members and colleagues in the planning and implementation of service delivery; clearly communicates assessment reports, student’s needs, and proposed therapeutic strategies/plan; writes individual student goals, objectives addressing functional outcomes, as a part of the IEP plan; maintains progress records and service logs; participates in IEP meetings; provides student with individual and/or small group therapy sessions utilizing a direct, consultative or monitoring approach, as appropriate. Monitors therapy programs and educational staff trained to incorporate occupational therapy treatment strategies into the educational program; evaluates the effectiveness of the established program and makes modifications within the framework of the IEP process as necessary, conducts in-services as requested; keeps abreast of best practices in the field of occupational therapy, and performs related duties as required. Travel between school sites required; mileage reimbursed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements: Must hold a valid California license in Occupational Therapy and a minimum of One (1) year of prior experience, including six (6) or more months of specific pediatric experience, preferably in a school-based setting. Must hold a valid California Driver’s License.
Condition of Employment: Employees are required to submit to a Department of Justice background check and provide proof of freedom from tuberculosis and vaccination of Measles and COVID-19.
