We are excited to announce a unique career opportunity as a Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher for our new “Residential and Commercial Construction Pathway Course” within the Building and Construction Trades Sector! We're looking for a talented and innovative individual, with a passion for the construction industry, and interest in contributing in the preparation of the next generation of construction professionals. Additionally, the teacher will prepare students for high-skill, high-wage construction careers aligned with post-secondary education and consistent with regional workforce needs. This course comes with the curriculum and industry standard tools that will be needed to provide students with a project based learning experience. Note: If hired, the applicant would need to possess or work toward a Career and Technical Education Credential, and this process is supported by the CUSD Personnel Department. OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES Teach and supervise assigned students with appropriate learning experiences in credential authorized area. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. 2. Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings. 3. Assesses, monitors, and evaluates student outcomes. 4. Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and community. 5. Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. 6. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and the emotional development of students. 7. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. 8. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. 9. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. 10. Supports the goals of the district by serving on special committees and other groups. 11. Performs other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Curriculum and instruction; instructional materials and methods; evaluation and assessment techniques and procedures; child development; the core curriculum. Ability to: Work effectively with a wide variety of organizations and with people of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds; understand, implement, and give complex oral and written directions in English; maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; compose clear, complete and concise correspondence and reports independently using correct grammar, syntax, punctuation and spelling; manage a positive, educational, classroom environment. Experience: Student teaching and other experience working with school-age children. Education: Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited college or university. Credentials: CBEST, valid California Teaching Credential for assignment. Supervision: Works under minimal supervision of the Principal and/or Assistant Principal on assigned site.
