This position is for a certificated teacher who loves data analysis as the driving tool for informing instruction, curriculum choices, and program quality. This teacher will work directly with the classified intervention team staff and certificated teachers. Additionally, come in for a zero-obligation tour of our resource center and enjoy an unstaged, brief immersion into our Personalized Learning Public Charter School program. Northern Summit Academy-Shasta (NSA) is a WASC-accredited, TK-12 non-classroom-based (truly Flex-Based Instruction), Personalized Learning Public Charter School. We are authorized by the Shasta County Office of Education and located in Anderson, CA. Our school serves students who reside in Shasta County and its contiguous counties. Students are provided their standards-aligned education through independent study, resource center classes, concurrent enrollment at the colleges, or any combination that is best for the student. We are located at 2301 Balls Ferry Rd., Anderson, CA. The charter and school community support innovation, collaboration, and the personal development of all students and staff. Students are offered a broad course of study that includes music and art for all grade levels. Career Readiness and Exploration are offered for grades 6-8, Career Technical Education Pathways are offered to high school students. Concurrent college enrollment is encouraged and supported. NSA offers a-g courses, online and in the resource center. Northern Summit Academy-Shasta (NSA) is searching for a CA-certified teacher to become part of our team.

Currently, we are looking for a full-time teacher who will work in our Anderson, CA Resource Center. The successful applicant will lead our K-12 intervention program, manage standards based enrichment opportunities, and facilitate an independent study teacher of record roster. Compensation is competitive with local school districts. Step 1 of the certificated salary schedule is $57,641.22. Full-time employees are offered annual health, dental, and vision benefits. The dental and vision benefits are family-inclusive. The NSA board has approved a new hire stipend of $2,000. The NSA school year is 175 instructional days and 185 employment days over a 10 month period. The school offers professional development and support to teachers who are new to the non-classroom-based program. This position requires excellent time management, communication skills, and timely and accurate paperwork. Working knowledge of assessment tools, data management, and documentation is critical. Additionally, the applicant must have or acquire an acquaintance with the TK-12 CA Standards in all subjects. Applicants must be willing and able to learn and adhere to charter school laws, school policies, and procedures. It is highly desirable, although not required, that the applicant has working knowledge of the School Pathways Student Information System. Applicants must have a working knowledge of Excel, and Google Sheets. Desirable additions to the credential, and the related experiences, are other CA credentials, Designated Subjects Credentials, industry sector experiences for Career Technical Education, Home Economics, and/or Cosmetology. The successful applicant must obtain DOJ Clearance, complete TB testing, or the TB survey, upon receiving a job offer. The applicant must complete Mandatory Reporter Training within 10 days of hiring and Sexual Harassment, CPR, and First Aid Training within 30 days of employment, if not already certified.
